Congleton Unplugged

Warm up and explore our town's fantastic hospitality venues while enjoying local live music with Congleton Unplugged.

Congleton Live CIC's secondary, more stripped back life music event of the year, will take place on every day this weekend.

70 gigs, 20 venues, ALL FREE. Just make sure you buy a drink to support our town's independent businesses, and the musicians that play there.

Live Dance

Congleton Town Hall.

After an afternoon of Unplugged live music, you may wish to sit back and enjoy a different kind of performance.

At 7pm in Congleton Town Hall, a Congleton youth dance group will take to the stage.

Genesis Dance Troupe Open Night's will show off new routines.

£3 entry, funds go towards the good cause, refreshments available.

Congleton vs Bury

Congleton will welcome a club formed from the ashes of a former professional football club this weekend.

AFC Bury are fourth place in the league to Congleton Town's ninth, with nine points separating them.

However, this is not a league match. It is knockout football. The cup match with their divisional rivals is for a spot in the next round of the FA Vase trophy.

It is the second time Congleton have taken on a former Football League phoenix club in the past twelve months, alongside local rivals Macclesfield FC.

Kick off 3pm Saturday. Tickets on the door.

Women's Suffrage Event

It was international women's day this week, and a Saturday afternoon event will shine a light on seven significant women who helped campaign for women's suffrage.

Celebrate the right to vote, and indeed Congleton's finest daughter Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy, amid great food and drink at The Old Saw Mill on Back River Street.

Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy's biographer, Dr Maureen Wright will host the event to mark a year since Elmy's Bridge Street status was unveiled.
