Community save 80-year-old Congleton mature Weeping Ash tree from getting chopped

By Guest 19th Aug 2021

Friday 13th August proved to be lucky for a weeping ash tree.

Congleton Town Councillors, Cong Bear, protesters and residents banded together to voice their concerns over the proposed felling of a healthy 80-year-old tree at the Church House Inn in Buglawton.

The tree which forms a back drop to Buglawton in Bloom was due to be cut down at 8am.

The brewery which owns the pub, Robinson's has listened to the concerns of the people and have reversed their decision to fell the tree, as part of their development plans for the upcoming refurbishment of the pub and grounds.
