General Election 2024: Labour to take control of Congleton, Nub News poll suggests

Labour could take over in Congleton come July 5, according to the results of a Nub News General Election 2024 poll.

The independent survey of Nub News newsletter subscribers found 38.04 per cent of readers would vote for Labour's Sarah Russell if the election was held today.

This poll also indicated Reform UK had taken over The Conservatives in the constituency, achieving almost one quarter of the vote.

Reform UK's Martin York received more votes than the Tories in the Nub News Poll (Reform UK).

Reform's candidate, Martin York, who is representing the party in the Cheshire constituency for the first time, achieved 24.6 per cent.

Current Conservative MP, Fiona Bruce, came in third, receiving 17.54 per cent. This was a decrease of 41.46 per cent from her 2019 victory.

The Tories were followed by Independent's Rob Moreton, who received 9.34 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrats' Paul Duffy managed 5.24 per cent of the vote.

Current Conservative MP, Fiona Bruce, received 17.54 per cent of the vote. This was a decrease of 41.46 per cent from her 2019 victory (Wiki Commons).

There was little between Green Party's Richard McCarthy (2.96 per cent) and Kay Wesley's Women's Equality Party (2.28 per cent).

  • Kay Wesley- (Women's Equality Party) - 2.28 per cent

Alsager, Congleton and Sandbach Nub News polled 439 newsletter subscribers between 3:34pm on Wednesday June 12 and midnight on Thursday 14 June. Readers were only able to register a single vote for one of the eight candidates. Results were not weighted demographically.
