Eleven vehicles were clocked speeding on a Congleton road yesterday evening (Saturday).

Congleton West Police officers, armed with a hand-held speed gun, were on Padgbury Lane monitoring traffic after concerns from residents.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "PSCO Hooper was out on Padgbury Lane (30mph speed limit) today between 17:20 & 18:20 with the enforceable speed gun.

"Unfortunately there were 11 activations over the hour with the highest being 49mph!"
