Rehearsals are well underway for a local youth production which began in 1972.

The 26^th Congleton Gang Show, Our Gang, is produced and performed by members of Congleton's Scouting and Guiding groups every two years.

The week-long show relies heavily on donations and this year has been supported by funds from homebuilder Redrow.

There are approximately 100 local young cast members in this year's performance, who are supported by a similar number of volunteers working behind the scenes. 

Business manager Simon Appleton said: "It is only through the generous donations from organisations such as Redrow that we are able to offer this opportunity to the scouts and guides of the town. Thank you to everyone at Redrow for this donation."

Show producer Andrew Brown added: "It is fantastic that the young scouts and guides of Congleton can come together and once again put a smile on the faces of the audience.

"The show has such a close history and association with the town and we look forward to bringing our own unique variety performance to the people of Congleton."

Redrow is currently building at nearby Round Hill Gardens , located on Manchester Road will eventually include 454 new homes and will feature a wide selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties, split across two outlets Woodlands and Blossoms.
