A physiotherapist from Congleton is gearing up for the release of his 15th book.

Chris Norris explores trauma and redemption in his debut novel, Fractured Healer.

Having written 14 non-fiction books on physiotherapy and exercise over the past 30 years, Chris decided it was time to delve into the world of fiction.

He said: "I wanted to write a contemporary novel focusing on self-help and resilience, showing that when you get knocked down it is possible to get back up again.

"This is something which is quite important in physio as we see patients where something bad has happened to them (injury, surgery, medical condition) and we work with them to build back up again."

Over the past 40 years, chartered physiotherapist Chris has at universities and hospitals across Europe.

He also runs physio-led Pilates and yoga classes in Congleton, at Pure Balance Pilates on Moss Lane.

Alongside this, he has written 14 non-fiction books covering everything from sports injuries and acupuncture to back rehabilitation and exercise therapy.

His next publication, Fractured Healer, tells the story of a leading surgeon haunted by an event at a university party 20 years ago.

It deals with themes of love, regrets, and the loneliness, while a continuous thread of self-empowerment prompts the reader to wrestle with the moral and ethical impacts of crime on both the victim and the offender.

Chris said: "Having spent 40 years treating people and seeing some remarkable results when people draw on their inner strength, I wanted to tell a story featuring personal resilience.

"Each of us at some stage is knocked down by life. I wanted to show that we can get back up again.

"The story also shows the importance of friendship – it's not always plain sailing, but it can be a strong and lasting bond.

"Ultimately, many of us find life loses its sparkle, but we can still scale new heights and seek new opportunities whatever our age."

Fractured Healer is released on Monday, July 28, and is available to purchase here.
