Pancake day is just around the corner and Macclesfield will be hosting its annual Pancake Race on Tuesday 21st February.

Setting up on a short course between the Town Hall and Mill Street, teams will race whilst flipping a pancake in a frying pan.

The annual event is hosted by East Cheshire NHS Trust's charity ECHO who hope to raise funds each year to help their ongoing causes.

They are as ever, on the look out for businesses to get involved alongside those already signed up including The Insurance Surgery, LOVELIVE, A Plan Insurance amongst others.

The race first started in 2014 and has proved a popular addition to Cheshire's social calendar.

Lily Preston, ECHO Fundraising Manager, said: "The Pancake Race is a brilliant community event which brings local businesses and organisations together to raise funds for Macclesfield District General Hospital. Over the last few years, we've had to pause the Pancake Race due to COVID-19, so in 2023 we want the event to be bigger and better than ever.

Registration is straight-forward and is £20 per team with teams allowed to register up to 4 people. Multiple teams can be added from the same organisation, adding to the competition. Sponsorship has no minimum amount with ECHO just asking to raise as much as possible for ECHO.

Lily concludes: "By taking part in our Pancake Race you are helping make a real difference. We couldn't support East Cheshire NHS Trust without the ongoing support, hard work and generosity of our local communities who donate to, and fundraise for, the charity.'
