Wet Felted Pumpkins Using a Resist Workshop

It's pumpkin time!!!

Learn to make unique wet felted pumpkins at this brilliant workshop - £55 including all materials, hot and cold drinks.

Discover the art of wet felted pumpkins using a resist at our exclusive workshop and make as many pumpkins as you can! Add beautiful textures and colours to your pumpkins - completely different to needle felting - your pumpkins can be stuffed with wool and a cup of rice to give then weight (you will be given some stuffing to take home and use when they are dry!)

The workshop will cover essential 3D wet felting with a resist, colour blending, textures, inclusions and design principles, as well as a look at the properties of each fibre type, allowing attendees to express their artistic visions in a tactile and dynamic way.

Unleash your creativity and dive into the world of wet felting at our upcoming workshop. Hosted by Vicky, of Needlessly Felted, this workshop promises participants an immersive experience in crafting unique 3D pumpkins through the mesmerising technique of wet felting.

Wet felting is an ancient craft that involves using water, soap, and agitation to transform raw wool fibres into a dense and malleable material. In this hands-on workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn the intricacies of wet felting and create their own beautiful 3D designs under the expert guidance of local artist Vicky Pulman.

Participants will be provided with all the necessary materials, including -

High-quality wool roving in a dazzling array of colours, textures and types

Hand spun and dyed artisan yarns

Raw and dyed silk fibres

Sari silk fibres and scraps

Bamboo mats

Fine mesh

Rolling and fulling tools

Resist materials

Natural olive oil soap.

Water sprays

We advise attendees to wear a pinny! Rubber gloves may be used if preferred. You may wish to bring a small hand towel and something with which to carry your wet work home. Once dry - stuff and stitch shut then add on the stalk and tendrils.

Spaces for this workshop are limited to 6 due to space constraints, so early registration is encouraged. Attendees are encouraged to bring their inspiration or reference photos to personalise their designs. Light refreshments will be provided, as well as a lunch break offering participants the chance to mingle and share their artistic experiences. Food may be ordered from the cafe adjacent to the workshop venue. Small kits and some fibres will be available to purchase at the end of the session.

Don't miss the chance to delve into the enchanting world of wet felting and create your own masterpiece!
