Friday 5 September

Everything must come to an end sometime .. and it doesn't have to be a negative thing at all!
Like one season must evolve into another, there is a renewal in the air.. but that's another story as you will see soon enough.
The date has been set for the conclusion of 'A Rich Earth' and it's the 27th September. Work that has been sold has been delivered to new homes allowing a natural shrinkage, but that's not to say that it's just the remnants - on the contrary, there remains some of my strongest work, in my humble opinion! So come along and see it ..
The exhibition opened to the public in June and runs until mid-September. The friendly and spacious venue is the upstairs gallery at the Two Doors Studio, Number 100, Crewe Road, Alsager, ST7 2JA. All are welcome, says Ian. The gallery is open during usual shop hours. Admission is free. Pay and display car parking is available nearby. Entry to the exhibition is via the Two Doors Studio front door on Crewe Road.
The subjects of the works on show demonstrate Ian's fascination with dramatic landscapes across the UK and their changing face under the light and weather of all four seasons. Among these are examples from his series depicting the big skies of the Rhinns of Galloway peninsular in southern Scotland, lighthouses on the coasts of England and Scotland as well as many jewel like studies of the tree-lined lanes, and dark woods of the rolling countryside around Chapel and Hill Chorlton, Maer Hills and further afield in the historic area of the 15th century Wars of the Roses battle of Blore Heath near Market Drayton.
With an international artistic reputation grounded in a series of successful exhibitions held over the last 10 years, Ian Pearsall is perhaps best known locally for his dramatic views of Potteries landmarks, history and heritage, a large number of which were painted at the extensive studio in Longton where he worked for many years. However, he is also an accomplished painter of the beautiful North West Staffordshire and South East Cheshire countryside. Since moving to Maer several years ago, where he initially worked out of a unique studio converted from a former working stables which was surrounded by Victorian farm buildings, Ian has produced a rich and diverse catalogue of superb landscape paintings in a variety of colourful media, including paint, watercolour and ink drawings. The exhibition includes paintings in a variety of sizes to suit a wide range of décor and room sizes. Most of the paintings on show are framed in Ian's personally chosen high quality exhibition frames. All are available for immediate purchase direct from the artist.
