Rotary-Congleton's Wildlife Friendly Garden Competition returns for a third consecutive year.
The Rotary Club has a stand at the Makers Market on the last Saturday in April, where it will also sell a range of pollinating plants.
The competition appeals to all ages and all sizes of garden – from 5 to 95 years old and from a window box to a country estate! The competition runs until August 15th and encourages everyone to think about our endangered wildlife and take simple steps to help and protect them. Birds, bees, butterflies and bugs, hedgehogs and even badgers, frogs and toads and every species of garden birds are all in trouble.
With Congleton gardens equivalent in size to over 400 football pitches, plus courtyards, patios and balconies, there are so many opportunities to do a little to help. There are two prizes of £100 for the winners in the garden and courtyard categories as well as runners-up prizes. Sponsors are Timothy A Brown Estate Agents and Smithy Farm Nursery,
