Chance to raise issues and celebrate unsung heroes at Annual Town Meeting
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 2nd May 2026
Congleton residents are invited to attend the Annual Town Meeting.
Taking place on Thursday, May 14 at 6pm in Congleton Town Hall, the evening will begin with the Town Mayor's Civic Awards, celebrating the town's unsung heroes and dedicated volunteers.
This will be followed by a review of the past year, short presentations and an open forum chaired by the town mayor.
Congleton Town Mayor, councillor Robert Brittian, said: "The Annual Town Meeting is a great chance for local people to get together and raise questions about issues affecting the town.
"It is not a council meeting, and councillors have the same rights as attending members of the public.
"Issues raised during the meeting will either be taken up by the town council or passed to the relevant organisation for consideration. I hope many residents and local group representatives will take the time to attend."
Doors to the Town Hall will open at 5.30pm.
Residents wishing to submit a question in advance, should email [email protected] or post/deliver to Congleton Town Hall, High Street, CW12 1BN.
You must include your name, address, and contact details, and specify whether you wish to ask your question in person or have it read out on your behalf.
While questions will also be raised on the night, priority will be given to those submitted in advance.
Please note that the number of questions may be limited due to time constraints, with the meeting scheduled to finish at 8.30pm.
