Police name Congleton man charged with attempted murder

A Congleton man charged with attempted murder has appeared in court.

Jordan Williamson was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning (March 15) after a man was stabbed at a house in Biddulph.

Staffordshire Police were called to the scene on Congleton Road at 1.10am following reports of a burglary.

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head, chest and back. 

He has since been discharged from hospital.

 Williamson, from Congleton, was charged with attempted murder, assault by beating, affray, assault by beating of an emergency worker, possession of a knife in a public place and two counts of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress.

 The 31-year-old appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Monday, March 17).

He was remanded into custody is due to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 14 April.
