Congleton High School pupils overcome Covid disruption and individual challenges to achieve greatness

Congleton High School is celebrating 'significant improvement' in GCSE results.
The cohort of 2025 experienced the most disruption to their education due to the impact of the pandemic.
Despite this, they have achieved the school's highest overall performance in the past three years.
Headteacher Heidi Thurland believes this is testament to the school's core values of 'courage, curiosity and ambition'.
She said: "We are hugely proud of every single student who has worked so hard and overcome individual challenges to achieve greatness.
"These results are not just numbers—they represent stories of perseverance, growth, and ambition fulfilled."

Many of the students will be returning to the school in September as they start their A-levels.
Last week, the sixth form celebrated its best set of A-level results since 2018.
The number of students achieving the highest A* and A grades increased by 15%, reflecting the hard work of staff and students over the past two years.
This puts the school in line with the top 25% of educational institutions across the country.
