Currently looking for a Handyperson for 3 months. Must be willing to travel and have a clean driving license

Main responsibilities and accountabilities

  • To conduct regular communal inspections where there are schemes of properties to ensure the organisation meets it's legal and corporate responsibilities
  • Ensure there are no hazards and obstructions and that relevant notices to tenants and or photographic evidence is collected for FRA system / records to ensure all communal areas are compliant with fire legislation and health & safety requirements.
  • Testing of fire panel equipment and emergency lighting
  • Identifying, and reporting repairs or environmental issues to the Customer Access Team or other appropriate agencies.
  • To record and update inspection records in a timely manner for auditing purposes.
  • Carry out water flush to communal water supplies to reduce risk of legionella.
  • Close monitoring & management of communal keys & fobs, ensuring keys /fobs are stored securely and spares are ordered / made available as required.
  • Assisting with access arrangements for Contractors.
  • Sustaining Communities
  • Build and manage strong and effective relationships with internal and external customers, colleagues, partners, agencies and support groups to support Customers.
  • Utilise CRM system to pick up work tasks and record outcomes.
  • Work with the Neighbourhood Housing Team to ensure delivery of neighbourhood / service plans and specific projects.
  • To assist with the delivery of new build and re-investment programmes within the neighbourhood.
  • To complete any other reasonable tasks requested by the Neighbourhood Housing Team, including collection of meter readings where required. Note: the introduction of Smart Meters will reduce the need for radings.
  • A commitment to personal development and maintaining of general knowledge of social housing and the external factors affecting it.
  • Work with the internal teams to actively encourage and promote Customer consultation and participation.
  • To complete any other reasonable tasks requested by the Neighbourhood Housing Teams.Performance
  • To monitor and report on performance of service contracts to internal teams, such as landscaped/grounds maintenance and communal cleaning.
  • Report any identified issues relating to planned programmes being completed.
  • Finance, budgets and resources

Education

  • Educated to GCSE / NVQ level desirable
  • ITQ or GCSE or equivalent in IT
  • Holds a full driving licence

Experience & knowledge

  • Proven experience of delivering excellent customer services.
  • Experience of inspecting communal areas desirable.
  • Experience of partnership working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to the promotion of equality and diversity (for both customers and colleagues).
  • Proven ability to contribute positively to team responsibilities, performance and outcomes.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft office.
