Congleton tennis players have done our town proud once more.

The South and Mid Cheshire Tennis League Presentations took place on Sunday 4th September, this year being staged at Hartford Tennis Club

Congleton Lawn Tennis Club have had a successful summer season with the Mens Ladies and Mixed A teams all securing the league and cup doubles.

It is doubtful if this is a feat that has ever been achieved by any club.

Conglaton's Men Matt Parker and Toby Miller top the table with an unbeaten record.

Another achievement which will catch the eye of stat lovers is the perfect record of the unbeaten mens team.

Congleton A won all 14 games, finishing six points above their nearest rivals.

The Winter A team also collected their shield for being division one champions in 21/22.

This Saturday September 10 sees the club ladies and mens doubles championships taking place with full fields for both events.

Play starts at 1pm and spectators are welcome.

The club thanked the sponsors for these events - Johns Barbers (also of West Street), Ray White Builders (of Alsager) and Rainbow Cheesecakes (of Crewe).

The mixed doubles championship takes place on Sunday 25th September as part of the clubs end of summer season celebration running from 1.00pm - 6.00 pm.

There will be: Nonstop junior tennis, the ball machine set up, a tennis speed gun, live music by Greg Jackson's Glass Ankle, and other music from DJ Mandy Craker. Local food and drink can be bought as well.

There will also be a celebration of Congleton Lawn Tennis Club's 2022 winning teams and the Junior Achievement Presentations.

The club has had a great season of tennis this year, so members are encouraged to please come along and support this event.

The club is again entering four teams in the South and Mid Cheshire Winter Leagues for 22/23.
