Congleton Town are top of the league after making it two wins from two games following an emphatic 3-0 win away to Irlam.

It only took the Bears four minutes to take the lead through midfielder Gary Roberts, formerly of Chester, Port Vale and Crewe Alexandra.

Not to be outdone by his former Vale teammate, Tom Pope also opened his Bears account in the 76th minute before a quickfire third goal from Aaron Johns secured the three points.

Richard Duffy's side are on the road again this weekend as they kick-off their FA Cup campaign with a trip to Emley AFC on Sunday.
