The Premier League trophy is coming to Congleton.

Congleton Blues, an official Manchester City supporters group, has arranged for the club's most recent accolades to visit the town.

It forms part of the Citizens' 'Champions 4-in-a-row Trophy Tour'.

The tour has seen the Premier League, Club World Cup and Community Shield trophies taken around the world, visiting the likes of New York, Beijing, Tokyo, Delhi, Abu Dhabi, Sao Paulo and Toronto.

Next up is a trip to Congleton Cricket Club on Monday, January 27.

Colin Jeffries, from Congleton Blues, says there may even be some special guests in attendance.

"This event follows on from a similar successful event we held last year where the treble winners trophies (Premier league, Champions League and FA Cup) all came to Congleton which was attended by then mayor, Rob Morton," Colin said.

"This allowed locals the opportunity to see and have their pictures taken with all the trophies.

"We are hopeful that local ex-Manchester City players Ian and David Brightwell will make a special appearance."

The event on January 27 starts at 8pm, with entry priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children.
