Congleton Cricket Club are preparing for an 'exciting new chapter'.

The Bears will be joining the North Staffordshire and south Cheshire Cricket League (NSSCPCL) for the upcoming 2025 season.

The Booth Street club's first XI will join Division 2, with the second XI joining Division 7.

A spokesperson for the club said this marks 'an exciting new chapter in the 155-year history of our club'.

They added: "The NSSCPCL is renowned for its competitive standards and passionate cricketing culture, of which we are now thrilled to be a part of.

"We feel this move aligns perfectly with our aspirations for the club's future and look forward to contributing to the league's rich tradition of cricket excellence.

"As we prepare for the season ahead, we are eager to embrace this new challenge and are confident it will inspire further growth, development and ensure the long-term success of the club.

"Here's to an exciting season in 2025!"

Congleton's move to the NSSCPCL sees them depart the Cheshire County Cricket League.

The club had enjoyed recent success there, with the first XI achieving back-to-back promotions in 2018 and 2019.

The latter of these promotions came as champions and saw the club reach Division 1, where they enjoyed four successful seasons.

Meanwhile, the second XI recently achieved promotion to Division 2, managing 14 league wins in 2023.
