Congleton: Tennis Club Chairs' charity event gets glorious weather

By Guest 5th Apr 2022

West Road sports club Congleton Lawn Tennis Club was blessed with glorious weather for their 2022 Chairs Trophy sponsored by Spall Clark Solicitors.

The event was run as an American-style tournament, followed by semi finals and a grand final.

Congleton residents and winners Margaret Wilshaw and Matt Parker took home the prize vouchers for use at Pears Hospitality venues presented by Becky and Paul from the sponsors.

Chair Rob McNinch thanked all of the competitors and the sponsors as well as presenting representatives from Congleton good cause Visyon with a cheque for the funds raised during the last 12 months, whilst the club has supported Visyon as its first charity of the year.

Feedback from some of the competitors on the day was "My first competition at the club. A great afternoon. Thanks to everyone involved."

"Thanks to everyone who arranged today. It was a great day and super to see some new members playing".

The next event is the Presidents Trophy on Monday 2nd May sponsored by Stephenson Browne Congleton and Franklyn Financial Management and entry is now open to members via the website.

The latter sponsor have just opened a new mortgage broker in Congleton, for which you can read more about here.
