Congleton is preparing for a hauntingly good end to October.

Half-term and the spooky season is almost upon us, with film screenings, family activities, and late-night parties set to take over the town.

One of the main events will see the Town Hall play host to Witchy Wednesday on October 29, treating youngsters to pumpkin carving, creepy crafts and a fancy dress competition.

Rachel McCarthy, Congleton town centre and events officer, said: "Halloween in Congleton is always a highlight for local families.

"This year, with the return of the town centre trail and the fun of Witchy Wednesday in the Town Hall, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

"We hope the celebrations will bring plenty of people into Congleton to join in the seasonal fun."

Adults can also get creative, with Glebe Farm hosting a needle felted pumpkin workshop.

Elsewhere, Congleton Market Quarter has a bumper line-up of Halloween fun in store.

Every Saturday throughout October, R&G's Tap House will transform into Spooky Cinema, screening old horror favourites at 6pm and 8pm.

Guests can sip on themed cocktails like All Hallows Grog, Wake the Dead, and Dead and Berried while watching the scares unfold.

For those chasing photo-worthy frights, the CMQ Boo Booth will be running from 5pm to 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays, complete with a smoke machine for that perfect eerie snap.

CMQ's Halloween celebrations come to end with the Beartown Goul Down on Friday, October 31, from 6pm.

Expect live music, Halloween-inspired food and drinks, and a buzzing atmosphere as independent vendors join in the fun.

Speaking of Halloween night, several pubs and bars in the area will be getting in on the action this year.

The Coach & Horses in Timbersbrook will host an all-evening celebration from 4pm with live music, fancy dress, and cocktails, while The Olde Kings Arms welcome all from 8pm for a fancy-dress party with DJ Steve B, karaoke, and prizes.

Meanwhile, The Radway Club is holding its annual adults-only Halloween bash with live band The Del Gatos.

With free trails, eerie films, and plenty of ghostly gatherings, Congleton is set for an amazing Halloween, offering spooky fun for families by day and chillingly good nights out for grown-ups after dark.
