Congleton will be getting into the spooky spirit this October.

The town council has announced plans for a Halloween half-term celebration.

Families can look forward to a mix of free and ticketed activities designed to bring the community together, including the return of the Halloween Trail.

Rachel McCarthy, Congleton town centre and events officer, said: "Halloween in Congleton is always a fantastic community celebration, and this year is set to be even bigger and better.

"The Halloween Trail is a wonderful way to explore our town centre and support local businesses, while Witchy Wednesday promises fun, creativity, and spooky surprises for families.

"We can't wait to welcome everyone into the town for some half-term magic."

The Halloween Trail returns from Saturday, October 25, and runs until the following Saturday, November 1.

Supported by more than 40 town centre businesses, families can hunt for clues hidden in shop windows to uncover a secret message and claim their prize from Congleton Information Centre.

It is free to take part in and leaflets will be available soon from the information centre and online.

On Wednesday, October 29, Congleton Town Hall will play host to Witchy Wednesday.

This ticketed event will feature everything from pumpkin carving and creepy crafts to face painting, cake decorating, and a fancy-dress competition.

Tickets for Witchy Wednesday cost £2 per child and are available from Congleton Information Centre or online here, with three different time slots available at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm.

Adults do not need to buy tickets, but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

To ensure as many families as possible can take part, organisers are asking attendees to cancel tickets if plans change, and to book only one session per child.
