Congleton crafters are being invited to take part in a much-loved festive event.

The town's annual Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Friday, November 28.

Ahead of the big day, Congleton Town Council is appealing for local businesses, charities and community groups to get involved.

In particular, the council is looking for artisan producers, craft makers, speciality traders and festive creators to sell their unique products at the Christmas Market.

Event organiser, Rachel McCarthy, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to boost your Christmas sales by showcasing your products to thousands of visitors.

"The event draws a massive audience from across Congleton and the surrounding area, giving you the chance to engage directly with festive shoppers in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.

"Stall bookings are now open!"

The market will feature a wide array of stalls spread across the High Street, Town Hall, and pedestrian area.

Traders interested in taking part can apply online here or contact Congleton Information Centre on 01260 270350(1) or [email protected] for further details.

Congleton Town Mayor, councillor Robert Brittain, said: "The Christmas Lights Switch-On is a magical time for our town, bringing families and the whole community together.

"We're especially pleased to welcome local businesses and traders – it's a fantastic chance to showcase your wares, reach thousands of shoppers, and share in the festive spirit."
