Best Halloween events in Congleton 2026 including ghost walks and pumpkin picking
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 20th Oct 2026
Congleton is preparing for a hauntingly good end to October.
The half term break is upon us and there are plenty of ways to get into the Halloween spirit.
Congleton Town Hall will host Witchy Wednesday on October 28, with everything from pumpkin carving and creepy crafts to face painting, cake decorating and a fancy dress competition.
The town council have also organised two ghost walks with the mayor, councillor Suzy Firkin, along with the return of the Haunted Halloween Trail.
She said: "Halloween is such a wonderful time for families to come together and enjoy everything our town has to offer.
"The Haunted Halloween Trail and Witchy Wednesday are fantastic examples of local businesses and the community working together to create something special for families during half-term.
"I hope lots of families will get involved, explore the town centre and enjoy some spooky fun."

Family fun
Congleton's award-winning adventure play centre, Castaway Play, is staging its biggest-ever Halloween event this year.
The Greatest Spooky Show runs everyday from October 24 to 31 and offers everything from crafts and character visits to pumpkin picking and animal shows.
Check out our full preview here.
Meanwhile, the Swettenham Club is gearing up to host its Halloween Party on Friday, October 331.
This fun family disco will feature all your favourite spooky songs as well as party games, prizes and fancy dress!
Elsewhere, those looking to burn off some of that sugar can head to GSM Padel who are offering courts for just £22 over the Halloween weekend (with at least one child and one adult attending).
The club, which recently applied to install two new outdoor courts, is also running a Vampires & Volleys event on Halloween night with men's and women's competitions, fancy dress and a free drink.

Pumpkin picking
Of course, Halloween wouldn't be complete without a pumpkin and thankfully for us here in Congleton, there are plenty of places nearby to go and pick your own.
Libby's Patch Farm in Gawsworth is in the midst of its 'biggest pumpkin season yet', with 76 varieties to choose from.
Pye Ash Farm in Bosley, meanwhile, say they have planted more pumpkins than ever before.
Alongside the pumpkin patch and maze, families can enjoy sheepdog demonstrations, marshmallow toasting and face painting.
Meanwhile, those looking for a fright can head up to Seven Sisters Farm where the scare maze is making a return.
On select evenings, the 'posh ice cream' farm will be staying open late with live DJs and a gourmet BBQ.

What else?
The frightening festivities get started at Congleton's newest shop, The Peacock Emporium.
They will be hosting an evening of haunted tales and tarot readings on Wednesday, October 29.
The following evening, head over to Orso Lounge for a 'Spook-tacular Paint & Sip' event.
"Whether you're a complete beginner or a confident painter, our friendly artist will guide you step by step, making it easy to create a masterpiece you'll be proud to take home," the listing reads.
Then, on Saturday, Congleton says goodbye to the Corner Cauldron.
Known for its mystical cocktails and Harry Potter tea parties, the venue will sign off with one final party on Halloween night.
