Congleton's award-winning adventure play centre is getting into the spooky spirit this October.

Castaway Play on Moss Road has announced plans for its biggest-ever Halloween event.

The Greatest Spooky Show will feature pumpkin picking, spooky trails, character visits, crafts, dancing and more.

"Get ready for a magical Halloween day out at Castaway Play," reads the centre's website.

"The Greatest Spooky Show 2026 brings together pumpkin picking, spooky trails, chocolate treats, character appearances, creative activities, animal handling, fancy dress prizes, haunted disco fun, and all day access to play areas, making it the perfect October adventure for the whole family.

"Spaces are expected to be popular, so book early and get ready for a Halloween event packed with pumpkins, characters, shows, dancing, and spooky family fun."

Halloween timetable & treats

The Greatest Spooky Show begins on the weekend of October 17 and 18 before resuming for the half-term break, from October 24 to 31.

On these dates, you will be able to meet a variety of characters:

• 10:30am - Jack Skellington & Vamprina
• 11:30am - Slimer & Marshmallow Man
• 12:30pm - Beetlejuice
• 1:30pm - Spooky Greatest Showman
• 2:30pm - Slimer & Marshmallow Man
• 3:30pm - Jack Skellington & Vamprina

Throughout the Halloween event, Castaway Play's cafe will be serving up a range of themed treats and refrshments.

Little monsters will also be able to take part in a Halloween passport trail and pick their own pumpkin to take home.

There will also be painting activities, daily prizes for fancy dress, animal shows, a haunted disco and a 'Halloween Globe'.

SEN Halloween 2026

On Sunday, October 18, Castaway Play will host a SEN Halloween event, created for children with special educational needs and their families.

This special sessions is designed to offer a calmer and more relaxed Halloween experience, with a welcoming atmosphere where children can enjoy the fun of the season at their own pace.

Whether your child loves spooky decorations, Halloween-themed play, dressing up, friendly characters, or simply spending time in a safe and welcoming space, Castaway's SEN Halloween event is sure to be a wonderful way to celebrate.
