Residents asked to help keep town tidy as Congleton in Bloom eye up national prize

Residents are being asked to help keep Congleton looking its best.
Congleton in Bloom has announced the first Town Tidy Day of 2025.
Taking place this Saturday, February 1, the community event will kick off the group's campaign to secure its fifth gold in the RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals.
Glen Williams, Congleton's dedicated Town Tidy Champion, said: "Every pair of hands makes a huge difference. Whether you're planting a hedge, picking up litter, or simply lending a hand, every effort counts. Come along, meet new people, and be part of something truly special as we aim for another gold!"

Congleton in Bloom hosts Town Tidy Days on the first Saturday of every month, with activities ranging from planting and weeding to litter picking.
This year's Town Tidy Days promise to be bigger and better than ever, starting with a focus on hedge planting and litter picking at Astbury Mere Country Park.
From 10am to midday, volunteers will help plant a new hedgerow and orchard, enhancing the natural beauty of this much-loved local gem.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to join in and make a difference in their community.
No prior experience is needed—just turn up, bring your enthusiasm, and enjoy a morning of rewarding activity.
All equipment will be provided, but volunteers should wear sensible clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor work.
