Opening date of Congleton's first Starbucks confirmed

Congleton is getting its first Starbucks.
The international coffee chain will soon arrive in Beartown as part of the new Viking Park development.
The drive-thru store is scheduled to open on Thursday, May 1.
A Starbucks spokesperson said: "We're looking forward to opening on Thursday, May 1, and bringing the Starbucks experience to more people in the Congleton area and those passing through on their travels.
"We're thrilled to be able to create 15 new jobs and we'll also be donating the first day's sales to a local charity of the partners (employees) choosing."

On Tuesday (April 1), Cheshire East Council approved a planning application from Gastronomy Foods UK Limited for KFC and Starbucks signage at Viking Park.
In a report recommending the plans for approval, case officer Jonathan Hall wrote: "The proposed advertisement would not significantly impact upon the character of the area with regards to amenity and public safety.
"It is recommended that advertisement consent be granted."
KFC is expected to open this Spring, creating up to 40 jobs for local people.
A spokesperson for the fast-food giant said: "Fried chicken fans, the rumours are true!
"KFC is officially coming to Viking Park, Congleton.
"We can't wait to get settled into the community and start serving our first customers very soon."
