Teenager sentenced for stabbing 15-year-old boy near Tesco

A teenager who stabbed another boy has been sentenced.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Cheshire Youth Court on Monday, April 14.
It comes after he pleaded guilty to wounding without intent at an earlier hearing.
He was given a 12-month referral order and a restraining order not to contact the victim.
Detective Sergeant Tom Binder said: "Teenagers inflicting serious injuries with dangerous weapons is not something we're used to hearing about in Congleton and this level of violence has shocked the community.
"We already educate young people about the dangers of knife crime, but after this, we also enlisted an external company to deliver knife crime prevention education to every pupil supported by neighbourhood police officers.
"We will continue to work with our schools to ensure this type of dangerous behaviour remains a rarity for Congleton."

The court heard how on the evening of Friday, January 17, the boy got into an altercation with another boy in West Heath near Tesco.
At some point the 15-year-old victim was stabbed in the back, causing a serious injury which needed hospital treatment.
Despite best efforts the knife was never recovered.
The defendant denied stabbing him but the wound left no doubt that it had been caused by a knife.
DS Binder added: "Thankfully, while the injury was serious, it was not life threatening and the victim is making a good recovery."
