Three local bands will be turning up the volume and putting on a special evening of music to raise money for Congleton's youth sports teams.

The Big Gig at Congleton Town Hall on Saturday 18th March will see The Trigger Hounds, No Fit State and The Volts join forces for one-night only.

All proceeds from the event will go to Beartown Youth Sports, which consists of Congleton's cricket, rugby, football and tennis clubs.

All three of the bands are based in Congleton and have become staples of the town's live music scene thanks to their lively performances and sets full of classic rock 'n roll and indie covers.

Doors will open at 7:30pm with The Volts kicking off the show, followed by No Fit State and then The Trigger Hounds will round off the event, which ends at midnight.

The headline sponsor for The Big Gig is Bears Brew Coffee Co., a recently launched Congleton-based supplier of sustainable and responsibly sourced coffee.

David Podmore, singer and guitarist in The Trigger Hounds, said: "Everyone in all three bands is really excited about The Big Gig! We can't wait to put on an amazing show that will help to make a real difference for Congleton's kids.

"The night promises to not only showcase a lot of great music but we all know how important the local sports teams are and the work they do in our community. Many of us benefited from the training and support that the youth clubs provided while we were growing up, so are really looking forward to giving something back."

Sarah Stubbs, Club Manager of Congleton Cricket Club, said: "All the clubs that make up Bear Town Youth Sports play an important role in the town and The Big Gig is a great opportunity to not only help us continue this work but also celebrate everything the clubs do in a way that brings the community together."

Chris Brady, Founder of Bears Brew Coffee Co., said: "Congleton is lucky to have both an amazing sports community and music community! Sponsoring this event is a great way to support both of these and we can't wait to sing and dance the night away with everyone. Also, if anyone would like a recommendation for a good coffee to pick them up the next day, we'll be on hand to help out."

A number of local businesses are supporting the event, including Bears Brew Coffee Co., Pear Hospitality, Stonehammer Music, John's Barbers, and Bear Grills, who are The Big Gig's official Breakfast Partner.

A raffle will be held on the night, with a range of prizes up for grabs including donations from Bears Brew Coffee Co., LT Optometry, and Chris Hamriding Lettings & Estate Agents,
