An 'indoor jungle' has opened in Congleton.

Oh Shoot! Plants on Lawton Street has been open for just over a month now and things couldn't have gone much better.

Behind the counter you will find Nathan Craig and his trusty four-legged companion, Dougie.

The 30-year-old said: "The first few weeks have been really good!

"I'm very tired already but so excited for the journey ahead.

"As I say I have had a great response so far and everyone here has been so lovely and welcoming."

Nathan, originally from Baddeley Green but now living in Alsager, first grew an interest in plants when he moved to Spain in 2015.

Upon his return a year later, he set about turning his home into a miniature jungle.

Two years ago, he launched his business, Oh Shoot! Plants, at Sandbach Market.

Having enjoyed great success there, he decided it was now time to find a space of his own.

He said: "I'd been doing really well at Sandbach Market so this felt like the next logical step.

"I knew I wanted somewhere local and I heard about all the homes being built in Congleton.

"It's a very exciting time for the town.

"I found this beautiful store and fell in love with it straight away."

"It's been really good so far," Nathan said.

"It was a bit hectic setting up and we had some deliveries that didn't arrive on time but then we had about 60 people here for the launch party!"

Nathan's not done yet, with plans to install an indoor tree and a reptile enclosure in the store.

He has also lined up various events, such as terrarium workshops, murder mystery nights and jungle bingo.
