Congleton Market Quarter's newest vendor has enjoyed a successful start to life.

Woodys opened earlier this month, serving up rotisserie chicken, crispy potatoes, hot sarnies, salads and more.

Owner Ruben Richards is no stranger to the local food scene, already operating venues in nearby Macclesfield and Altrincham.

"Having traded in Macclesfield since the Picturedromes launched in 2019, we've fallen in love with traditional market communities," he said.

"Their sincerity and willingness to support small business has always amazed us, so when Congleton came knocking there was only one answer.

"We are so excited to be here.

"An Instagram post CMQ shared on the morning of launch has now had nearly 80,000 views, that a lot of eyes on us so we know we can't disappoint!"

Woodys launched in Altrincham in 2024.

Ruben added: "Our mission was simple - to build a neighbourhood spot where everyone felt welcome, serving a proper breakfast and lunch menu that you've loved forever

"Our branding is a nostalgic nod to the glory days of the Great British caff, combined with an honest menu packed full of modern comfort food – we want to share our love for the humble chicken.

"Now, we're ready to spread our wings."

Ruben also trades at Macclesfield's Picturedrome food hall under the business name, Rubens Mezze & Grill.

Asked what Congleton residents can expect from the new location, he said: "Super fresh, competitively priced, modern comfort food."
