A Chinese restaurant is set to close after 30 years in business.

Happy Garden in Congleton has announced it will shut its doors for the final time at the end of September.

The decision comes amid 'difficult family circumstances', combined with the terms surrounding the renewal of their tenancy at West Heath Shopping Centre.

A post shared on the restaurant's Facebook reads: "After 30 wonderful years, it's with very heavy hearts that we announce that Happy Garden will be closing at the end of September 2026.

"Due to changes beyond our control, we have explored every possible option, but unfortunately difficult family circumstances, together with the terms surrounding the renewal of our tenancy, mean that continuing is no longer possible for us.

"This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but one we feel is now the right one."

The post continues: "We are so grateful to every customer who has walked through our doors over the past 30 years.

"What started as a restaurant became so much more - we've made friendships, celebrated special moments, and created memories that we will treasure forever.
