Struggling to pay the bills this winter? A FREE meal or two could go a long way.

Did you know? Congleton Town Hall hosts FREE meals for those on hard times?

And it takes place TWICE a week?

It will take place from every Monday from 11am to 3pm, and every Thursday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm for the foreseeable future.

The event, titled Food and Friendship at Congleton Town Hall, simply needs to be booked to be accessed.

Please let the organisers know when booking whether you or a child has specific dietary requirements.

In a statement, Congleton Town Council said: "We're grateful to offer this event for local residents and families who are isolated or in need of a little help and support.

"A hot meal will be provided for all. All we ask is you book your FREE place in advance.

"Just book by the Thursday for Monday, or Monday for the Thursday."

Mark Bailey and Mark's Events and Bluey's (the new bar and hangout part of the left to the Town Hall on High Street) are helping serve the food.

It is not Biddulph-resident Mark Bayley's only altruistic contribution for others this year.

He put his Glebe Farm stall on hold this year to get key essentials to Ukraine when the war broke out.
