Excitement building with just days to go until Congleton's 'biggest ever' Food & Drink Festival
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 2nd Jun 2026
Congleton Food & Drink Festival is just days away.
Thousands of foodies will descend on Beartown this Sunday, June 7, as the popular annual event returns.
Set to be the 'biggest yet', more than 80 stalls will fill the town centre from 10.30am to 4.30pm, giving visitors the chance to try a huge range of local produce, artisan treats, craft beers and international street food.
Mayor of Congleton, councillor Suzy Firkin, said: "The Food & Drink Festival is a highlight of Congleton's events calendar and we're looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors this weekend.
"Congleton Town Council is proud to fund the free Beartown Bus service, ensuring people can travel into the town centre at no cost.
"As the routes do not normally run on Sundays, this is a special service for the festival.
"We encourage everyone to leave the car at home, avoid parking and traffic queues, and enjoy a relaxed day out.
"The free buses are a great example of the town council investing in community events, supporting accessibility and helping everyone take part in what promises to be a fantastic day for Congleton."

High Street, Mill Street, and Swan Bank will be closed to traffic from 7am to 6pm to allow the festival to take place safely.
The closest disabled parking to the festival is at Fairground Car Park, CW12 1BP, which has six designated disabled bays.
There will also be a free bus service, funded by Congleton Town Council, with the 90, 91, 92, 93A and 93C services all free-to-ride throughout the day.
Rachel McCarthy, the council's town centre and events officer, said: "We're really looking forward to this year's Food & Drink Festival.
"After taking over the event last year, we've been working hard to build on its success and make it even bigger and better.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to showcase Congleton's vibrant town centre, support local businesses, and bring the community together for a great day out."
Families will find plenty of fun to keep the little ones entertained, with children's activities inside Congleton Town Hall, plus live music, face painting, circus skills workshops and roaming entertainment throughout the day.
Meanwhile, an inclusivity area in The Space will provide a quiet retreat for those needing a break from the crowds, ensuring the festival is welcoming and accessible for everyone.
Furthermore, due to the large crowds anticipated, visitors are asked to leave dogs at home.
