The first charity event from the new team behind The Bulls Head Congleton will take place this month.

The Mill Street public house will be hosting a weekend-long festival of guest drinks, performances and party vibes.

The event called 75 Reasons to Visit The Bulls Head will also have a charity raffle, marking the first fundraising event since new operators Jamie and Phil Parry took over.

The couple who took over the pub this spring, continue the previous publican's tradition of regular charity events.

"The brewer will donate a big hamper as one of the prizes to be raffled off", said Co-operator Jamie Parry.

"Other prizes include a voucher for Crema Deli [of 5 Bridge Street], and an hour photoshoot at a local studio.

"We would also love for for more Congleton businesses do donate prizes that could be auctioned or raffled off on the day.

"Hopefully that will pull in a great bit of money for East Cheshire Hospice. Thank you to everyone for your support."

"At our last pub, we used to support a children's hospice so it is great to work with East Cheshire Hospice here as well.

"This will hopefully be the first of many charity events that we run to come."

The 75 Reasons event will take place from Friday July 22 to Sunday July 24.

The event coincides with Congleton's pride festival, which occurs on Saturday July 23, so the town is set to be buzzing.

"As well as the raffle, other entertainment includes what we hope will become three live music acts," added Jamie.

"We're yet to confirm one on the Friday, but we'll have a band on the Sunday night and Spectrum in the garden from 2-11 on Saturday.

"If this goes well, we'd love to do Oktoberfest later this year as well.

"We've had an amazing first few months, finding our feet and meeting new people.

"We're now adding improvements to the beer garden that should be complete soon.

"We regularly run event's such as a smartphone quiz on a Thursday, and we want to maybe introduce a poker night soon."

Becky Sidwell of East Cheshire Hospice is grateful for the support of the Congleton pub.

"It is great that many businesses choose to do events and raise money for East Cheshire Hospice, it helps to keep and build valuable connections with our local community," she said.

"Thank you to everyone at The Bulls Head for their support."

Tickets for the upcoming raffle can be bought ahead of time at the bar. Cash only. It is £1 a ticket, but a £5 strip is recommended.
