Congleton MP Fiona Bruce, President of the Cheshire Show which opens tomorrow, praises the farming community

Congleton MP, Fiona Bruce, has heaped praise on the farming community in her new tole as president of a the Cheshire Show.

Fiona, whose constituency covers Sandbach and Alsager, says it is a privilege to have been invited to be president of the show in 2022.

She said: "The Royal Cheshire County Show is not only one of the foremost agriculture shows in the United Kingdom but also one of the longest standing, having been inaugurated as long ago as 1838.

"Since then show has become firmly established as a focal event in the life of farming families and the winder community here in Cheshire, providing an opportunity to showcase the best we have to offer to the county and beyond.

"I pay tribute to all those whose hard work, much of it voluntary, makes the Royal Cheshire County Show such a huge success.

"I also wish to record my profound appreciation to our local farming communities for the extraordinary contribution you make throughout the year to all of our daily lives."
