Buglawton Primary School would support the implementation of traffic calming measures alongside the presence of police officers following reports of "reckless" driving within the vicinity.

According to reports on social media, there has been a dangerous driver on Havannah Street, Buglawton, deliberately speeding at school drop off times in the morning.

A male driver has allegedly deliberately accelerated when children were crossing over the road on multiple occasions during the week.

Responding to concerns, Richard Jervis, deputy headteacher for Buglawton Primary School told Nub News: "The safety of our pupils and the local community is paramount. We trust that our families are able to walk safely to local schools in the area without the fear or risk of harm.

"As a school, we would support traffic calming measures alongside the presence of our local police and PCSOs to prevent any risk or harm caused by speeding vehicles."

Eaton Bank Academy has also sent out a letter to warn their children to be extra careful.

Posting on behalf of a very concerned member, Congleton chat's back stated yesterday (Wednesday): "Is there any way of informing parents of a dangerous driver on Havannah Street, near the bridge heading towards Naturecraft during the school drop off around 8:35am.

"The last two days a man is deliberately flooring his car when children are crossing it's terrifying, especially with all the new starters getting to grips with the roads.

"He's definitely going to hit someone, it is not normal bad driving, this is a deliberate reckless act to harm. I've not seen anything like this before.

"I'm at my wits end knowing there's going to be a serious accident about to happen but wanting to pre-empt it."
