Congleton Lawn Tennis Club's annual chairman's trophy tournament took place yesterday (Sunday, 23rd May).
The tournament was kindly sponsored by "For You Cakes and Treats" who provided 24 delicious cupcakes for the competitors to replenish their calories after six 15-minute rounds of tennis battle.
Rising to the occasion were semi-finalists Nick Wilkins and Jackie Simpson, who beat Kieran Beeston and Claire Johnson for a place in the final.
They were joined by James Porter and Vicky Garner who beat Simon McAsey and Claire Wilkins to claim the second place in the final.
Under rather blustery conditions a close final was fought out, with Nick Wilkins and Jackie Simpson just having the edge and coming out overall tournament winners.
Thanks to our chair Rob and his able assistant Kerry for running the event.
Cong Bear also visited the club to cheer on the competitors.
