With so much going on, it can be a challenge to remember when to put your bins out over the festive period.

To make your life easier, we have put together this handy guide to remind you what bin needs putting out and when.

Cheshire East residents are reminded that changes to their collection dates can also be found on the council website here.

General waste (black bin)

Black bins due for collection on Christmas Day, Thursday December 25, will instead be collected on Tuesday, December 23.

Meanwhile, black bins due for collection on Boxing Day, Friday December 26, will now be collected on Monday, December 29..

Looking to the new year, black bins due to be collected on New Year's Day, Thursday January 1, will not be collected until Monday, January 5.

Recycling (silver bin)

Silver bins due for collection on Christmas Day, Thursday December 25, will now be collected on Monday, December 22.

Those whose collection date falls on Boxing Day, Friday December 26, will instead need to put their silver bin out on Tuesday, December 30.

There will be quite a wait for those whose silver bins are due to be collected on New Year's Day, Thursday January 1.

They will now have to put their bin out on Tuesday, January 6.

Garden waste

Garden waste collections for subscribers to the council's Garden Waste Recycling Scheme will finish on Friday, December 19.

They will restart for subscribers to the 2026 scheme from the week commencing January 19.
