What's On in Congleton this weekend?
Every Thursday, Congleton Nub News rounds-up some of the greatest local events going on in our town for the upcoming weekend.

Now, let's get our teeth into the best events happening over the next few days in Congleton!
Georgia Leigh Ogden Match
If you haven't heard of The Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation, you may know someone who has benefitted from them.
Set up following the passing of Congleton 17-year-old Georgia Leigh Ogden in June 2020, the foundation fundraises and distributes money to charities and families in Congleton.
This weekend, there will be a charity football match between Georgia's friends, and friends of her parents.
The Congleton High School event kicks-off on Saturday at 2pm, and is free to attend, but donations recommended.

Local Live Music
He may have penned a song about Congleton Town FC's rivals, but this singer-songwriter is a underground local talent.
Greg Jackson, known for being behind the unofficial Macclesfield FC anthem Super Silkmen with his band Glass Ankle, is performing a FREE set in Congleton this weekend.
He'll offer stripped-back, but weekend-ready vibes with an acoustic set from 8:30pm.
He's previously performed at the venue for Congleton New Year's celebrations.

Bird Watching
Enjoy the great outdoors at a beloved Congleton greenspace, and learn more about nature at this Saturday event.
For two hours, The Lovell Quinta Arboretum in Swettenham will host a bird watching event from 10am-12pm.
Local birder Peter Brierley will be your guide, and it is BYOB, bring your own binoculars that is!

750th Event
A new immersive living history exhibition hosted depicting medieval Congleton in 1272 was launched this week, and you can visit it this weekend.
The medieval masterpiece, a model village of Congleton has been created by local volunteer Jenny Unsworth. It was funded by Congleton Town Council.
Places are still available at the ticketed event on Friday 8 July from 7pm – 8.30pm with talks by Jenny Unsworth and Dr David Roffe explaining more about the charter and life in Congleton.
Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2 for children. from the Congleton Information Centre in the Town Hall. There's also a free public viewing on Saturday 10 July with public viewing from 10am-2pm.
