Congleton: Here's our round-up of the best events in town this weekend...

Every Thursday, Congleton Nub News rounds-up some of the best local events going on in our town.

Don't forget you can promote your Congleton event on the Congleton What's On section.

Some of these events already have been promoting themselves for FREE on there. Just click the 'Nub it' button on the red link above.

Now, without further ado let's get into the events!

Disney Dance

Disney's 'Encanto' has seen songs such as 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' storm the charts. And now your little ones can dance to it with friends in Congleton.

2021 kids film Encanto has taken the world by storm.

So much so, the musical starring Stephanie Beatriz has inspired a dance session in Congleton.

4-11 year olds are invited to take part in the Disney dance, this Sunday at 10am.

The two-hour boogie will take place at Eaton Bank Academy on Jackson Road.

You must pay in advance to reserve your child's place. More info here.

Oscar Nom at Daneside Theatre

Sword play, unrequited love and based on a real person. Cyrano has been well-acclaimed by critics, and you can enjoy it in Congleton on Saturday.

Oscar nominated romantic drama Cyrano will be screened in Congleton for the first time this weekend.

The 2021 film, which is also a musical, stars Peter Dinklage who you may know from Game of Thrones.

The Daneside Theatre on Park Road will play the two-hour movie, filmed in Italy during the pandemic.

Tickets are £5, available from Congleton Information Centre 01260 270350 and via this link.

It will start on Saturday at 7pm.

Local Band Fundraiser

Market Square will be rocking on Saturday morning, as Congleton Library hosts John Lindley and The Poachers.

Having already raised thousands to aid humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, Congleton band John Lindey and the Poachers will take to the stage once more for another fundraising concert at Congleton Library.

This time the beneficiaries will be the NSPCC. Entry is free, but donations are recommended.

Whether you want to teach youngsters about the power of fundraising, or just fancy some live music, this will be a perfect feel-good event for any resident of our town.

The local folk heroes have just released an album, which can also be purchased at the Library.

Congleton Nub News will be posting a review of their latest CD in due course.

And that is it! Enjoy your weekend...
