Every so often, we love to profile a business in Congleton in greater detail, and the people behind it.

Today, we meet the young man leading one of Congleton's most popular gyms.

Gymetc Congleton Club Manager Jordan Pemberton (25), has ran the fitness centre located off Alexandra Way since 2018.

He started working for the gym in 2014 as an apprentice personal trainer, and worked his way up the ladder to lead the state-of-the-art gym.

"I think we're the best gym in Congleton," he said.

"What makes us unique is our wet area, we have a spa, pool, steam room and sauna. It is all heated, all luxury, and I can't fault it. I can't find any facilities like that around Congleton.

"What also makes us special is that as well as a gym, we have a café, hairdresser and nail technician.

"I love working here, I can bring my own style of management [in spite of Gymetc having multiple locations across the UK].

"I can also bring ideas, to which those above usually approve. For example we like to do good, we recently packed 67 aid boxes for Ukraine in 30 days.

"We've also started a pet food bank which gymgoers donate to.

"The hours are great, and I get to meet new people every day.

"Everybody knows everybody here, we know all our members on a first name basis as well.

"About 60% of our members are from Congleton, and 40% from Biddulph.

"We've just added a brand new squat rack, and October is a big month to look out for for new equipment."

"All the PTs that work here have their own different style of training to best suit you", added the Biddulph-raised man.

"And like with our equipment and classes, we have something for everybody.

"We have quite a lot of regular offers on. We currently have a no joining fee offer on saving £20 to join and the monthly membership starting from just £27.99 per month."

As well as two floors and a dearth of equipment, unique aspects of the gym include music videos on the walls to a jukebox that you can play your own music on. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Congleton Nub News)

"People are welcome to come and speak to me at reception and I'll show them around."

You can also contact Jordan on the Gymetc Congleton Instagram, which he runs.
