United Utilities repairing sewer after sinkhole appears

A temporary road closure remains in place as United Utilities carry out essential repairs on a collapsed sewer in Congleton.

Padgbury Lane remains closed between the junction of Sandbach Road and Green Acres Road.

The road closure has been in place since Saturday after a sinkhole appeared.

A spokesperson for United Utilities told Nub News: "Our engineers are currently on site at Padgbury Lane in Congleton fixing a collapsed sewer.

"The road has been temporarily closed so that we can safely carry out these essential repairs. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
