Tributes have been paid on the anniversary of a tragic incident which claimed the lives of four people.

Today, July 17, 2025, marks ten years since the devastating explosion at Bosley Mill.

Dorothy Bailey, William Barks, Derek Moore, and Jason Shingler all tragically died in the blast.

Paying tribute, a Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The events of July 17, 2015, remain one of the most difficult and tragic incidents we have ever faced.

"A decade on, the memory of that day is still deeply felt across our service.

"We continue to hold in our thoughts the families and friends of the people who lost their lives, those who were injured, and everyone in the Bosley community whose lives were changed forever that day.

"We will never forget, and today we stand with the community to support everyone affected by this tragic event."

In 2021, Wood Treatment Limited, the company that owned Bosley Mill, were fined £75,000.

Managing director George Boden was given a suspended nine-month prison sentence and ordered to pay a separate £12,000 fine after admitting to offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Hughes, who led the police investigation, said: "The incident that day tore the heart out of the local community and resulted in a long and exhausting journey for those who lost loved ones and also those who suffered life-changing injuries."
