Train lines blocked as emergency services deal with 'incident' near Congleton

Train lines are currently blocked.
It is understood emergency services are currently dealing with an 'incident' near Congleton station.
As such, services running between Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent will be cancelled, delayed or terminated.
Disruption is expected to continue until 11am this morning (March 21).
The Northern website states: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Manchester Piccadilly and Stoke-On-Trent some lines are blocked.
"Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Macclesfield.
"All stations between Macclesfield and Stoke-On-Trent will not be served."
The next train departing Congleton, to Manchester Piccadilly, at 10.09am has been cancelled.
Passengers are advised that Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe services are not impacted by this disruption
Northern tickets may also be used at no additional cost on West Midlands Trains services between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe in both directions to connect with Northern services.
Eyewitnesses say police and an air ambulance have been spotted near Congleton station.
Emergency services have been contacted for further information.
