To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Japan Day (VJ Day), The Royal British Legion - Congleton Branch and Congleton Ex Service association will be holding a short memorial service tomorrow.

The service will be held in the Community Gardens, on Lawton Street, next to the Cenotaph from 10:45am to 11:05am.

The RBL Congleton Branch are limited to 30 people inside the gardens, all of whom will have to safely social distance and adhere to Covid-19 guidelines.

While VE Day, on May 8 1945, marked the end of the War in Europe, many troops were continuing to fight in Asia until August 15. VJ Day commemorates the complete end of the Second World War.
