A Congleton farm could be home to a mini-community of bungalows.

The Eaton Bank Farm planning application can be read on the Cheshire East Council website.

The proposed accommodation will be at the junction of Eaton Bank, Surrey Drive and Jackson Road, near to the entrance to Eaton Bank Academy (which is on Jackson Road).

While the landowners will still own and occupy in the original farmhouse, a planning document states that 'all farming activities have [sic] ceased' for a long time.

So the new proposed bungalows will not replace any farming business. A planning document describes the site as "a former farm yard and paddock, currently used for domestic amenity."

There will be a total of seven new places to live. The bungalows are set amongst beautiful scenery with the River Dane valley close but not too close for comfort.

The plots will span 0.939 acres. One property will be four bedroom, whereas the amount of two and three bedrooms omes would be three each.

There are hedgerows that will have to be removed, but the applicant claims new ones will be planted in their place.

While no specific numbers are stated, the applicant pledges to plant 'new native species hedgerows' and 'specimen trees within these'.

Congleton residents can submit comments over the next few weeks on the Cheshire East Council website, where the full plans can be read. No responses from the public have been submitted as of yet.
