Prince and Princess birthday party for Congleton residents

By Tom Avery 10th Dec 2020

To celebrate the birthdays of two wonderful ladies at Congleton's Greengables Care Home, colleagues did something a little unique.

Audrey Ford and Carol Downs both recently celebrated their birthdays and Audrey requested a 'Princess Party' for all residents to enjoy, so colleagues got to work.

"We made prince and princess tiaras and played party games," explained Wellbeing colleague Lesley.

The residents in attendance, included Vincent Brough, June Percival, Margaret Meeke, Sheila Bemrose, Rachel Percival and Glenys Carter. Even Audrey's son visited through the window (see pictured).

Residents sang 'Happy Birthday' and did a dance chain with everybody laughing. The Guinea Pigs Lula and Henrietta joined the party as well.

Audrey thanked Lesley and said she had a, "Wonderful day!"

Margaret Meeke added that she would like a princess party for her birthday as well.

Dawn Sadler, Home Manager at Greengables, was over the moon with the celebrations and added: "What a wonderful day with smiles all around."
