Shoppers will be able to park for free across three car parks in Congleton over the weekend.

Free car parking will be available in the Fairground (by library), Princess Street (by the market) and Back Park Street (behind Lawton Street from 10am tomorrow (Saturday, 5 December) until Monday morning (8 December).

This is part of an offer of four days of free parking in three given car parks by Cheshire East.

Congleton Town Council have opted to use the four days for the next two Saturdays, Tuesday 22 December and have saved one for a festival day next summer. Saturday 19 December is a Makers Market day.

A spokesperson for Congleton Town Council said: "Our shops look forward to welcoming you, many are opening on Sunday too.

"We know it may take a little more time to shop so not having to worry about car parking tickets running out on these car parks will help.

"Many local shops are also offering home deliveries, online shopping and click and collect - so you can shop these ways too and still keep it local."
