Police officers have reaffirmed that swimming is not allowed at Astbury Mere Country Park.

This comes after several residents were asked to get out of the lake yesterday (25 June), on what was one of the hottest days of the year to date.

A Congleton West Police spokesperson said: "Could we please remind you that swimming is not allowed at Astbury Mere.

"The lake and fishing pegs are private property and numerous people have been asked to vacate the water."
