Police issue warning to teens following TikTok of break-in at disused Congleton shopping centre

Teenagers have been warned not to trespass in an old shopping centre in Congleton.
Cheshire Police are stepping up their efforts following several reports of youths entering a 'disused businesses premises' in the town centre.
While not specifically named by police, the force's warning comes just days after a TikTok user by the name of Lost Entry shared a video in which they break into Capital Walk
Captioned 'sneaking into a recently abandoned market in Cheshire', the video has been viewed over 20,000 times in just three days.
The statement released by Cheshire Police reads: "In the past few weeks, we have received several reports of youths entering a disused business premises in Congleton town centre.
"This location's owner is supporting police with enquiries and will be looking to improve their security measures in the coming weeks.
"Entering a premises without permission is trespassing and may also constitute criminal damage or burglary related offences.
"Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible, and prosecution may follow suit where appropriate.
"We ask parents and guardians to speak with young people about the dangers and legal consequences of this type of behaviour."
